Silly me,

            I should have known and never

            took the chance

Silly me,

            I dared believe there could

            be true romance;

Silly me,

            I risked heart's all and reached

            for stars above

Silly me,

            I knew I'd lose this foolish

            game called love.

Silly me,

            in heart of hearts I knew

            it could not be

Silly me,

            this Hope that led to ab-

            ject misery;

Silly me,

            naught else to do but smile

            through the pain

Silly me,

            to let guard down, I must

            have been insane.

Silly me,

            this lesson learned, vulnerable

            never more

Silly me,

            to let the heart rule the

            mind at war;

Silly me,

            no bitterness, I made the

            silly choice

Silly me,

            and my heart that gave fickle

            Hope a voice.

Silly me.
